Coffee shop interior decor ideas & styles we love

July 9, 2020

From the guest working on a laptop or reading a novel to the group of friends catching up, coffee shops and bakeries are the go-to spots for a wide range of customers. We decided to share some of the interior decor ideas & styles we absolutely love.

Your coffee shop interior can engage your guests, increase comfort, and urge them to become loyal patrons. Whether you are just planning to open a place or want to renovate and upgrade the one you already have, we hope this post can give you some ideas so you can create an alluring space that will improve your business.

Decor Accents to Consider

Studies show that the restaurant industry continues to boom because people enjoy immersing themselves in experiences, such as going out to eat. Additionally, with the growth of social media, more people look forward to sharing their experiences with others through images on platforms like Instagram. Outfitting your coffee shop interior with eye-catching, attractive elements contributes to creating a full-fledged experience for your guests while also serving as a free marketing tactic.
Depending on your cafe, certain parts of your coffee shop’s personality, values, and mission statement may or may not always be apparent in the color scheme and theme of your coffee shop decor. Choosing your accents wisely ensures that your brand and values come across to your patrons. Additionally, your coffeehouse decor has the capacity to make your space more engaging and immersive

Books & Magazines
Make sure the books and magazines you decide to display or have ready for your customers to enjoy relate to your brand and mission. You can include an eclectic mix of books to satisfy a range of customer interests.

Mugs Cups & Dishes
The style and color of your mugs and dishes can bring your brand’s personality to light. For example, a modern coffee shop might include brightly colored mugs and saucers, while a rustic cafe may offer neutral-colored mugs and mason jars for water.

Artwork & Picture-worthy Spaces
Choose local artists to show that you are part of the local community or if you emphasize fair trade. If a cause is dear to you, such as civil rights, include artwork that expresses it.
Create a display that is calling for a picture moment: add a floral installation as a background, or a whole wall of vintage pieces of vinyl making it irresistible not to take photos.

Music
Music has the capacity to bring out a specific vibe in your cafe. If you operate a rustic cafe, try playing grassroots music. If your spot is modern, you might choose more upbeat, popular songs. You may also choose to change your music based on your customer base; if your cafe is full of guests working on their computers, choose non-distracting music, like jazz or songs without lyrics.

Classic or Vintage Coffee Shop

Vintage decor draws inspiration from the past and may include styles from a variety of decades. It emanates a romantic, charming atmosphere with antique elements that emphasize an ornate, elegant pattern and design.

Ideas to incorporate:

  • Floral backgrounds and accents
  • China dishes as decoration or for serving
  • Victorian-style or distressed couches and chairs
  • Pieces with ornate elements, like embroidered doilies, hoops, quilts, or couches and chairs with intricate patterns

“Hygge” Concept

“Hygge” is a Danish word and concept that refers to joy and presence. Hygge decor emphasizes comfort, warmth, and indulgence without extravagance. A hygge interior is clutter-free with many natural and cozy elements.

Ideas to incorporate:

  • Use of wood and stone
  • Warm, soft lighting; candles, fireplace, or twinkly string lights
  • Comfortable seating
  • Cozy nooks
  • Rustic elements paired with contemporary

Boho Rustic Interior Setting

A rustic interior design features a range of organic, natural elements. It may utilize country, farmhouse decor or may veer towards an in-the-woods feel.

Ideas to incorporate:

  • Lots of nature elements, including plants in pots, plant walls, and flowers everywhere
  • Emphasis on rugged beauty
  • Wicker baskets and wicker elements
  • Chalkboard
  • Farmhouse components, like jars or vintage milk crates

Instagram-driven designs: the subtle art of making memories in the 21st century

January 22, 2020

As the image sharing community of Instagram has become increasingly influential among the architecture and design community, creating the so-called “instagrammable” moments, or choosing Instagram-driven designs, has now become a part of architectural briefs.
As a result, bars and restaurants now need to offer more than just exceptional food, drinks and service.
Customers can now make their choice based on the visual content they see shared on the multitude of apps. And while the sublime taste and exceptional flavors are still indispensable, businesses can surely cater to a bigger audience by including a unique eye-catching feature into their interior.
Ultimately, restaurants are in the business of making memories, and photos are the place where we store them.
One of the biggest trends in creating a beautiful instagrammable feature is adding a flower wall backdrop that inevitably attracts Instagram influencers. It is also one of the most affordable ways to spruce up any space.

The Flower Wall Company is always happy to help fashion more instagrammable moments around the world. And being a part of the spectacular ECCO Restaurant of Giordino Hotel in Ascona, Switzerland is definitely one of our most proud moments.

Strolling around the extensive gardens that surround this Tuscan-style hotel feels like stepping into one of Monet’s paintings.
The interior décor reflects the same vibrancy as the gardens. The warmth of the Terracotta floors is accented with bright furnishings of purple and green reminiscent of the hotel’s past all-pink history. A big fireplace, floor to ceiling windows and candlelit evenings complete the welcoming atmosphere.

The culinary highlight of this gorgeous resort is undoubtedly the 2-Michelin-Star restaurant Ecco Ascona. Its excellent aromatic cuisine and puristic simplicity is restaged daily by the ideas of Executive Chef Rolf Fliegauf and his team.

Our society is undeniably being changed by social media. And while many might argue how we ironically stay less connected in this age of smartphones, incorporating instagrammable features into a dining space could encourage us to go out and spend time together when we chase taking that unique photo for the next Instagram post.

You can find this beauty and many other gorgeous walls to add an instagrammable spot to your own business on The Flower Wall Company website.

January 14, 2020

With the arrival of the new year, it’s time to start thinking about design and decor trends for the big events you have coming in 2020.

The Flower Wall Company always tries to stay ahead and create something totally fresh to bring your event to the next level.

With classics like cream, pink and red still being extremely popular colors, this year is all about nature with its greens, blue-tinged teal, watery blues, and mineral colors.

Green is the trendy hue for event designs in 2020. The color represents health and wellness, offering a restorative calming quality for guests at your event.

Our “Glamazon” flower wall has been one of the bestsellers for a while, full of nothing but the super lush rich shade of green foliage, in different tropical leaves.

If pure green is not something you’re looking for, and you want both bursts of colors and freshness of foliage we have something just as trendy ready!

One of our most lavish creations to the day is the “Moana Pua” flower wall. Inspired by the iconic tropical views of Samoa and Maui, we tried to create a flower wall that would instantly carry you away into the magical land of invigorating natural beauty. It truly captures the romance and tropical beauty of the Islands.

Blooms and exotic colors of Hawaiian Hibiscus, pink lokelani flowers, the Maui roses in their bright sweet splendor, lush moth orchids with silky-smooth petals and an eye-catching array of real-touch leaves.
